Beautifully renovated building with lovingly finished interior. Warm and welcoming hosts provide fulminant breakfast. Boat trip on Douro river gives a different view of the city. Central location near cathedral and main station without being noisy.

As vegetarians and vegans, we were thrilled with the facilities at Casa Do Cativo. The kitchenette in our room had everything we needed, including a fridge, microwave, kettle, and coffee machine. The complimentary bottled water and assortment of tea bags, coffee pods, sugar, and milk were greatly appreciated. The breakfast spread was fantastic, with options like fresh fruits, bread, jams, and cereal. The staff even prepared a special breakfast for us when we had an early flight. The attention to detail and thoughtfulness extended to every aspect of our stay.

I loved staying here! The location was perfect for exploring the city, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The room was spotlessly clean and had everything I needed, like tea and coffee facilities and ironing facilities. I also enjoyed relaxing on the terrace and by the swimming pool.

We were blown away by Casa do Cativo's 19th-century charm and stylish interior design. Our mini apartment-like room was cozy and comfortable, with a separate living area and a luxurious bed. The breakfast was a good treat every morning, with a variety of freshly prepared options. The staff, especially Tiago, were helpful and friendly, providing us with great recommendations and assisting with reservations. Although we didn't get a chance to use it, the pool looked inviting. Despite being located in a slightly run-down area, the strong steel entrance door made us feel secure. we had an amazing stay and would gladly recommend this gem of a hotel.
